Case Study: Endress+Hauser enhances flow meter performance with COMSOL Multiphysics

A Comsol Case Study

Preview of the Endress+Hauser Case Study

Endress+Hauser makes flowmeters virtually independent of flow profile with Comsol

Endress+Hauser, a manufacturer of flowmeters, needed to improve the sensitivity and performance of its sensors for measuring fluid density, viscosity, and mass flow across various industrial applications. To understand the complex multiphysics involved, they turned to vendor Comsol and its COMSOL Multiphysics® software for simulation and analysis.

Using Comsol's multiphysics simulation capabilities, Endress+Hauser analyzed fluid-structure interaction, vibroacoustics, and electromagnetic effects within their sensor designs. This allowed them to optimize their Coriolis and electromagnetic flowmeters, reducing sensitivity to installation effects and improving measurement accuracy. The solution from Comsol provided deep insight that reduced the overall time and effort spent on testing and prototyping, enabling Endress+Hauser to produce higher quality, more reliable sensors for their customers.
