Continuum Blue builds a chair design simulation app with Comsol to replace lengthy and costly testing

Continuum Blue, a UK-based test house, faced the challenge of helping furniture manufacturers meet quality standards through lengthy and costly physical chair testing. They enlisted the vendor Comsol to reduce this burden by using the COMSOL Multiphysics® software to create a tool for virtual analysis.

The solution implemented by Comsol involved using the Application Builder to convert a predictive model into a user-friendly simulation app. This app allows manufacturers to test chair designs by adjusting inputs before building physical prototypes. Continuum Blue plans to deploy these apps globally using COMSOL Server™, thereby reducing testing time and costs for clients.
