A Global Health Service Company was expanding an enterprise-wide DevOps initiative to include its mainframe applications and needed to treat COBOL releases the same way it treats distributed and mobile apps. The organization required automated security and syntax scanning for every mainframe product release, a common SonarQube dashboard for management, and fast feedback to support Continuous Integration and consistent release management.

Compuware demonstrated a Topaz-based Jenkins workflow that extracts released COBOL source to SonarQube for HP Fortify security scans and SonarQube COBOL syntax checks; the team implemented the Compuware Source Code Download plugin and Topaz CLI and built Jenkins pipeline scripts to run scans when code is checked into Endevor QA. As a result, changed programs are scanned automatically, issues are visible the next day, poor-quality code is blocked from progressing, and the claims processing team is now fully integrated into the company’s CI DevOps practices.
