The State of Kansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Division (Kansas ABC) within the Department of Revenue managed more than 5,000 active liquor licenses and hundreds of temporary permits but relied on multiple databases, spreadsheets and paper records. This created duplicate data entry, frequent system downtime, lengthy manual approval processes (turnaround up to 30 days) and large paper archives. To modernize licensing, reduce inefficiency and speed turnaround, Kansas ABC selected Computronix and its POSSE ABC solution.

Computronix implemented POSSE ABC, a web-based platform that unified licensing, enforcement and inspection workflows, enabled online applications and mobile inspections, and centralized data entry. As a result, 57% of license and permit applications are now submitted online, filing cabinets were reduced from 35 to 11 (eliminating over 200,000 stored papers), report filing time dropped from a full day to about an hour, and the division achieved improved accuracy, faster processing and measurable time and cost savings.
