Independent Health Association (IHA), a large Western New York health plan serving nearly 400,000 members, needed to replace its legacy document scanning, OCR, and content storage systems while also modernizing claims processing. The organization wanted to move from Entrendex and IMAX to SunGard’s FormWorks and Macess, reduce administrative costs, improve HIPAA compliance and security, and support simultaneous implementation with its new HealthRules claims platform.

Computer Task Group (CTG) managed the end-to-end implementation of Macess and FormWorks, built new interfaces, integrated the systems with HealthRules, Power MHS, and Siebel, and helped automate document import and workflow operations. CTG completed the project on time and within budget, replaced a batch integration with a real-time Siebel-to-Macess interface, and delivered extensive documentation and a more stable infrastructure that supported key business goals and future upgrades.
