Case Study: Large Payer Organization Streamlines SDLC Efficiency with CTG

A Computer Task Group Case Study

Preview of the Large Payer Organization Case Study

CTG Implements an Agile, Hybrid SDLC to Drive a More Efficient, Effective, and Consistent Software Development Lifecycle

Large Payer Organization, a healthcare payer serving nearly 400,000 people, was using both Agile Scrum and Waterfall and needed a single, hybrid SDLC to improve work prioritization, estimation, resource allocation, documentation consistency, and audit readiness. Computer Task Group (CTG) was engaged to help align these critical development processes across the enterprise.

CTG implemented an Agile, hybrid SDLC by establishing governance, conducting a discovery assessment, validating controls with internal auditors, and creating detailed process documentation and training. The team also introduced a project Kanban with WIP limits and Definition of Done criteria, broke larger efforts into smaller features, and provided coaching to drive adoption. As a result, Large Payer Organization improved workload prioritization and resource allocation, created consistent audit standards, improved delivery timing and release planning accuracy, and shortened project timelines through a more efficient SDLC.
