CTG Assists Hospital for Special Surgery with Legacy Data Archive Solution

Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), a nationally ranked orthopedic hospital and major research institution, needed a Legacy Data Archive (LDA) strategy after moving to Epic. HSS faced the burden of supporting aging legacy applications, managing complex data retention requirements, and defining what data should be kept for legal and research purposes, but lacked the bandwidth to gather requirements, build an RFP, and run the selection process on its own. Computer Task Group (CTG) was brought in to help with the LDA selection effort and broader data management planning.

Computer Task Group (CTG) provided project management and consulting support to create a data categorization matrix and data plan that defined which legacy data would be eligible for the archive. CTG also helped manage the RFP and selection process, allowing HSS to focus on other Epic initiatives. As a result of working with CTG, Hospital for Special Surgery expects to save approximately $2 million.
