Petronas boosts cumulative oil production 5% with Computer Modelling Group

Petronas faced the challenge of optimizing production from a complex deepwater offshore asset in Malaysia, where production was constrained by the entire system from reservoir to surface facilities. To address this, they worked with Computer Modelling Group and utilized an Integrated Production System Modelling (IPSM) workflow powered by the vendor's CoFlow and CMOST software.

The solution implemented by Computer Modelling Group resulted in simulation runtimes that were 40 times faster than their legacy solution and enabled production forecasting for over 16 years. Through the optimization of gas injection volume, Petronas achieved a 5% increase in cumulative oil production.
