Harbour Energy boosts recovery by up to 6% with Computer Modelling Group

Computer Modelling Group worked with Harbour Energy to address the significant challenge of designing the large-scale Zama offshore field development in Mexico before first oil. Harbour Energy needed to confidently make multi-billion dollar infrastructure decisions for this major discovery without any production data available.

The solution implemented by Computer Modelling Group was a fully integrated production system model using their IMEX and CoFlow software. This approach connected the reservoir, wells, and facilities into a single forecasting environment. The study revealed that traditional methods were overestimating performance, identified optimization opportunities for infrastructure design, and demonstrated that production management strategies alone could increase recovery by up to 6%.
