ARC Resources, a Canadian oil and gas producer, needed to evaluate software for simulating its Parkland/Tower asset in the Montney formation and compared multiple vendors on features, run times, and project timelines. The company chose Computer Modelling Group (CMG) after a competitive analysis showed CMG’s unconventional reservoir workflow could deliver faster results than the alternatives.

Computer Modelling Group provided a proof of concept and benchmark study using IMEX, CMOST AI, Builder, and Results to build, history match, and forecast a 7-well model. The solution helped ARC Resources achieve accurate and timely reservoir characterization, with CMOST AI enabling quick history matches and CMG’s workflow making model updates and data transfer between project stages seamless.
