Computacenter worked with Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust to support its plan to deploy an electronic patient record (EPR) system across three hospital sites. The Trust needed to replace ageing legacy infrastructure that lacked the performance and availability to run 24x7 clinical systems, while also improving access to patient data and supporting future digital healthcare services.

Computacenter, working with Dell Technologies, implemented a hyperconverged infrastructure solution based on VMware Cloud Foundation on VxRail, including 24 VxRail nodes and Dell OptiPlex desktops for bedside access. The new platform delivered 50% faster access to patient administration data, improved disaster recovery, reduced power use and hardware administration, and gave clinicians faster, more reliable access to records and care systems around the clock.
