Case Study: Civil Aviation Authority achieves improved security and Microsoft 365 readiness with Computacenter

A Computacenter Case Study

Preview of the Civil Aviation Authority Case Study

Delivering software currency, better security and the platform to fully exploit Microsoft 365

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the UK's independent aviation regulator, needed to migrate from Windows 7 to Windows 10 to optimize its Microsoft 365 investment and improve security. They faced the challenge of upgrading 1,200 employees while minimizing disruption and sought a partner to design and build the new Windows 10 and SCCM environment to NCSC standards. The CAA selected their long-standing partner, Computacenter, to deliver this Windows 10 transformation.

Computacenter designed and built the Windows 10 and SCCM solutions, then managed the deployment via new laptops and hard disk replacements. Despite challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, the project was delivered on time and on budget. The outcome provided the CAA with a modern, secure operating system, allowing them to fully exploit Microsoft 365. Computacenter's solution also delivered cost savings by switching to Microsoft Defender and established processes for smoother future OS upgrades.
