Computacenter worked with Ferdinand Bilstein GmbH + Co. KG, a global automotive aftermarket parts manufacturer, to address performance and availability issues in its central storage environment. The company needed a dedicated solution for its Oracle database environment because its existing shared storage platform could no longer meet growing demands.

Computacenter implemented a PureStorage FlashArray X20 ActiveCluster with Cisco SAN infrastructure to create a high-availability, high-performance storage environment for Ferdinand Bilstein’s Oracle databases. The new platform was delivered on time despite pandemic-related supply constraints, nearly halved long-running data warehousing runtimes, reduced storage consumption by 6 to 7 times through compression, improved capacity efficiency, and lowered operational effort and costs.
