Case Study: German Federal Employment Agency achieves faster, more efficient storage operations with Computacenter

A Computacenter Case Study

Preview of the German Federal Employment Agency Case Study

Computacenter awarded Storage Area Network framework contract by the German Federal Employment Agency

The German Federal Employment Agency faced a challenge with its data centers in Nuremberg, as its existing storage systems had reached their capacity limits. This hindered data access for over 100,000 workstations nationwide. To modernize and accelerate data access while simplifying administration, the agency launched a tender. They selected Computacenter as a general contractor to implement a new storage infrastructure.

Computacenter provided a multi-vendor solution using flash-based storage systems from Hitachi Vantara, Pure Storage, and NetApp, along with Brocade networking and the NetApp OnCommand Insight management software. This best-of-breed approach, managed entirely by Computacenter as a single point of contact, resulted in accelerated data access, simplified operations, and clear cost reductions. The agency also benefited from a significant decrease in administrative workload and a modernized infrastructure ready for future demands.
