VIU eliminates network outages for 7 months with Compugen

Vancouver Island University (VIU) was facing severe and frequent network outages due to its aging and outdated infrastructure, which severely hampered the work of students and employees. These incidents, which once lasted a full week, compromised the learning environment and strained IT resources. VIU partnered with Compugen to design a new network solution to resolve these instability issues and build a foundation for future growth.

Compugen implemented a new infrastructure design using HPE Aruba switches and Palo Alto firewalls, consolidating the network core for greater simplicity and control. As a result, VIU has experienced zero network outages in the seven months since implementation. The solution provided by Compugen has given the university scalable infrastructure for future changes and has allowed the IT department to shift from constant firefighting to working on proactive initiatives.
