A Compugen Case Study
Tropicana Community Services, a non-profit organization serving disadvantaged youth and families in Toronto, faced a significant challenge when the pandemic highlighted a lack of access to technology, which became a barrier to education and employment for the community. They partnered with Compugen and its Green4Good program to address this need for refurbished end-user devices.
Compugen's solution provided over 300 refurbished computers and tablets, relicensed with Microsoft applications, to Black youth and their families. The results were outstanding, with the devices enabling students to participate in remote learning and secure part-time jobs, a benefit that extended to entire households. This initiative, which also raised over $30,000 for Tropicana's programs, empowered future workplace representation and had a significant positive ripple effect throughout the community.
