Suncor diverts 34,000 devices from landfills with Compugen

Suncor Energy, a large integrated energy company, faced the challenge of responsibly disposing of thousands of end-of-life IT assets to support its corporate citizenship and environmental sustainability goals. They needed a trusted partner to help them avoid sending devices to landfills and to find new life for their old hardware. They partnered with Compugen and its Green4Good service to achieve this.

Compugen implemented its Green4Good program to collect, evaluate, and refurbish or recycle Suncor's devices. Viable equipment was securely wiped, refurbished, and resold, with the proceeds donated to Suncor's chosen charities. Through this solution with Compugen, Suncor diverted 34,000 devices from landfills, generated over $130,000 for charity, and earned 2,600 carbon credits to help offset its operational emissions.
