Elections Ontario, the nonpartisan agency responsible for administering elections in Canada's most populous province, sought to modernize its century-old paper-based process and enhance security for its critical systems holding the personal information of millions. To build a modern, compliant, and highly secure cloud-based solution, they partnered with IT solutions provider Compugen and migrated their infrastructure and applications to Microsoft Azure.

Working with Compugen, Elections Ontario successfully migrated approximately 100 election applications to Azure and deployed advanced security services like Microsoft Defender for Cloud. The solution provided the agility to scale capacity for election peaks and achieved significant cost reductions, including a 30% overall cost reduction and 7% monthly savings from automated workload management. Compugen helped Elections Ontario realize a secure, reliable, and efficient cloud-enabled election footprint, strengthening public trust in the electoral process.
