A Compugen Case Study
Excelleris Technologies Limited Partnership, a healthcare information distribution provider in British Columbia, needed to modernize its aging IT infrastructure to support growth, high availability, and strong security for sensitive medical data. With downtime and security breaches unacceptable, Excelleris turned to **Compugen** for a datacentre transformation that could handle more data and transactions while replacing end-of-life equipment.
**Compugen** designed and implemented a new co-located datacentre solution built around Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), Cisco networking, and a Hitachi Unified Storage SAN. The new platform consolidated about 60 physical servers into a single UCS chassis with only four or five blades, reducing power and cooling needs and cutting co-location fees by nearly 50%, while also lowering software licensing and operational costs.
