Case Study: Finning gains visibility and control over IT assets with Compugen Emerge

A Compugen Case Study

Preview of the Finning Case Study

Compugen Emerge gives Finning visibility and control over its IT assets

Finning (Canada), a division of Finning International Inc. and a major Caterpillar equipment dealer, needed better visibility into its IT assets and procurement process across 60 Canadian locations. With about 3,400 end users, the company struggled to track servers, PCs, printers and other shared assets, along with service histories and end-of-lease return details. Compugen helped address these challenges with its web-based Emerge platform.

Using Compugen Emerge, Finning’s IT staff and end users gained access to the Procurement Manager and Asset Manager modules, along with hosted support and pre-populated hardware/software standards. The result was better control over asset locations, procurement status, approvals and service history, plus easier access to lease-return information, budgeting data and license-compliance support. Finning also improved reconciliation of network scans against inventory reports, giving the company much stronger asset visibility and management.
