Case Study: City of Mississauga reduces storage costs and restore times with Compugen and HP SANs

A Compugen Case Study

City of Mississauga boosts storage capacity nearly 70% with Compugen

The City of Mississauga faced an information explosion that its legacy HP EVA storage infrastructure could no longer handle, with data growing 20-30% annually. Their challenge was managing this growth while improving the reliability of their backup and restore capabilities. They engaged vendor Compugen to help assess their needs.

Compugen implemented a solution using HP 3PAR StoreServ SANs and HP X9000 Network Storage Systems. This new infrastructure increased storage efficiency by nearly 70%, reducing projected 2016 requirements from 500TB to 350TB. It also enabled an automated backup process that cut backup windows in half and made restores nearly instantaneous, eliminating human error and the need for IT staff to travel between sites.
