A Compugen Case Study
Lac La Biche County, which operates the Bold Center recreational multiplex in northern Alberta, needed to replace an aging IT environment that could no longer support growth or up to 150 users. Its existing setup relied on a single failing physical server running multiple workloads, creating reliability and scalability concerns. Compugen was brought in to help modernize the county’s server and network foundation.
Compugen redesigned the environment with a Windows Server 2008 platform, VMware virtualization, extended LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructure on Cisco enterprise equipment, and a Cisco-based IP phone system. The upgrade supported the Bold Center and connected other county facilities, giving the county a more resilient, enterprise-class platform for future growth. Over the two-year project, Lac La Biche County saw major improvements in how it used technology to conduct business.
