A Compugen Case Study

BC Hydro - Customer Case Study

BC Hydro, one of North America’s leading clean energy utilities, needed a better way to manage end-of-life IT assets from large-scale PC refreshes across the province. Its internal team was spending significant time collecting, tracking, securely wiping, donating, and recycling decommissioned devices through a complicated, centralized process. Compugen helped BC Hydro address this challenge through its Green4Good® program.

With Compugen’s Green4Good program, decommissioned assets were collected from BC Hydro locations, securely wiped, and triaged based on residual value. Devices with no value were recycled through certified partners, while reusable assets were refurbished and either donated to Computers for Schools or resold by Compugen. The result was a faster, more streamlined disposition process, reduced internal workload, and measurably lower equipment disposition costs through resale revenue and less material sent to recycling or landfill.
