Optometric Medical Solutions, a San Antonio-based managed service provider for optometric practices, needed a HIPAA compliance solution it could offer clients with very different levels of readiness. Some clients had no compliance measures in place, while others had incorrect policies or had not attempted to implement a proper program at all. OMS also needed to address its own HIPAA obligations as a business associate.
Optometric Medical Solutions chose Compliancy Group’s The Guard and packaged it with its existing credentialing, insurance verification, revenue cycle management, consulting, and training services. The Guard gave OMS a system, a roadmap, and tracking to help it implement and maintain HIPAA compliance for both its own organization and its clients, while making it easier to explain and demonstrate compliance.
