Mustang Bio Leaps out of the Gate with Cloud-Based Next Generation EQMS, Retires Paper-Based Quality Systems

Mustang Bio, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, faced a paper-based quality management system that created slow, error-prone workflows—administrative changes routinely took one to two weeks and nonconformances or CAPA items could take two to four months to resolve. In 2019 Mustang selected ComplianceQuest’s cloud-based Enterprise Quality and Safety Management System (QHSE) on the Salesforce platform, implementing Document, Change, Training, CAPA, and Nonconformance modules to replace manual processes and improve traceability and compliance.

ComplianceQuest delivered a modern, dashboard-driven EQMS that simplified workflows, consolidated change processes, and put procedures and training at operators’ fingertips via tablets on the manufacturing floor. The new system recovered the equivalent of two full-time colleagues by cutting manual tracking, made audits and document retrieval far faster (notably during an October 2020 inspection), and improved searchability, accountability, and overall efficiency.
