A Complia health Case Study
Guysborough County Home Support Agency (GCHSA) faced heavy administrative burdens, safety concerns for Home Support Workers (HSWs) in rural Nova Scotia, and the need to comply with new Working Alone legislation. To tackle inaccurate paper timesheets, mileage reporting, duplicated data entry into their Procura EHR, and environmental waste, GCHSA selected Procura Mobile from Complia Health as the technology solution.
Complia Health deployed Procura Mobile (integrated with the Procura EHR) on mobile devices to provide GPS “breadcrumbs,” Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) check-in/out, real-time scheduling and in‑field client documentation. The rollout improved safety and accountability, met Working Alone requirements, cut paperwork by 34%, halved payroll verification time (from two days to one), reduced postage staffing from 47 to 5–7, saved about 59 reams (3.5 trees) annually, and enabled 3,179 more visits and 916.33 additional service hours (direct service hours +2.53%, visits +10.37%).
