Compass Regional Hospice was growing rapidly — expanding from routine home hospice to multiple residential centers and seeing average daily census climb from about 31 to nearly 90 — and found its paper-based, fragmented documentation was causing double-documentation, missed care capture, and billing ADRs. To address these operational and compliance challenges they evaluated EHRs and selected Suncoast Version 8 from Complia Health to replace scattered processes with a hospice-focused electronic system.
Complia Health implemented Suncoast V8 with discipline-specific forms, workflow-based checks, and hands-on staff training (including on-site support from the Suncoast trainer), enabling bedside documentation on tablets and faster onboarding. The result: documented workflows and reporting improved accuracy and compliance, workplace morale rose, new-hire training time was cut in half (three new nurses trained faster), transitions stabilized in about two weeks, and Compass can now use Suncoast reporting to support growth and open additional residential centers.
