Girls Day School Trust finds initial £217,000 per annum savings with Compleat

Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) is a group of 23 independent girls’ schools and two academies in England. Although GDST had implemented the Compleat Procure-to-Pay (P2P) system from Compleat Software in 2014 (tightly integrated into PS Financials), it still faced a fragmented buying environment with over 6,500 suppliers and each school buying independently, making it difficult to quantify and deliver sustainable savings.

Compleat Software analysed, categorised and benchmarked GDST’s spend, consolidated vendors and drove adoption through its P2P platform and procurement team, identifying immediate savings of about £200,000 (c.15%) on bakery, meat and dairy and projecting over £700,000 per annum in food savings as further categories are tendered; Compleat Software is also reviewing £943k of office and educational supplier spend to find more efficiencies. The work automated online buying, reduced supplier fragmentation and put GDST on track to realise substantial, measurable, sustainable cost reductions across the estate.
