Preview of the Consumer Electronics Retailer Company Case Study

4.5% uplift in gross profit after using Competera’s demand-based engine

Consumer Electronics Retailer Company, a leading Eastern European omnichannel electronics retailer with more than $3 billion in annual revenue, needed to streamline portfolio pricing across a huge assortment of similar SKUs. They faced competitor-driven price sensitivity, cross-SKU demand impacts, frequent repricing needs and margin shifts, and engaged Competera to apply its demand-driven pricing engine powered by neural networks (Competera’s bespoke deep learning algorithms) to optimize shelf prices.

Competera trained models on 2.5 years of historical data and ran a PoC in the headphones category (40 stores, 8-week test vs control), applying about 42,000 price recommendations. The Competera solution preserved revenue while enabling targeted increases and decreases that improved performance overall: a 4.4% rise in category revenue and a 4.5% uplift in gross profit, with some SKUs showing up to a 15% profit gain.
