The Swedish Police Authority (Polismyndigheten), a government agency referred to as Polison in the case study, faced challenges with the decentralized and inefficient printing and mailing of millions of documents annually from its Kiruna facility. Their processes involved handling numerous unsorted batch files in various formats, which prevented them from qualifying for postage discounts and lacked central oversight. Compart's DocBridge Pilot software homogenized incoming documents, primarily converting PDFs into the AFP format required for bulk printing. The solution automatically presorted mailings by type and zip code to maximize postage discounts, controlled print jobs for optimal printer capacity, and provided full transparency over the entire document processing workflow. This centralization by Compart allowed Polison to process approximately 3.7 million mailings per year more efficiently and resulted in expectations of significant future cost savings through postage discounts and reduced manual effort.
