Visicom, a leading global provider of digital mapping products, needed to streamline a mixed and partly outdated Microsoft software environment. The company’s changing license terms and the need for better compliance and cost control led it to seek support from COMPAREX for software asset management and licensing guidance, including Microsoft Map Toolkit-based assessment services.

COMPAREX implemented a Microsoft SAM Baseline project using the Microsoft Assessment and Planning (MAP) Toolkit, created a license balance for Microsoft and ESET products, and recommended improvements to Visicom’s internal SAM processes. As a result, Visicom gained a complete overview of assets and software usage, improved budget control and cost savings through more targeted procurement, and stronger compliance to avoid audit penalties.
