Case Study: Valmet achieves accurate IBM ILMT audit reporting with COMPAREX

Valmet Oyj, a company in the pulp, paper and energy industry, was struggling with an IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) installation that was not reporting correctly, creating compliance risk for IBM PVU audits across 100+ servers. COMPAREX Finland had been supporting Valmet on software asset management since 2014, and the customer needed help while also managing its post-split IT transition from Metso.

COMPAREX performed a health check and reconfigured the ILMT setup, resolving the reporting issues during an on-site engagement, and has since provided ongoing ILMT management. As a result, Valmet now has stable, regularly monitored reporting for IBM PVU sub-capacity usage and compliance verification, with reports generated on time and an upgrade path from ILMT 7.5 to 9.2 planned for the environment.
