Case Study: Caja Rural Castilla-La Mancha achieves faster backups and recovery with COMPAREX and Veeam

Implementation of Veeam Backup Software solution in a banking customer

Caja Rural Castilla-La Mancha, a savings and loan cooperative based in Toledo, Spain, wanted to modernize its infrastructure and improve backup and storage after virtualizing much of its environment. Its existing backup system treated virtual machines like physical servers, took too long to run, required too much storage, and was difficult to manage with limited IT staff. To address this, the cooperative worked with COMPAREX and adopted Veeam Backup & Replication for its Microsoft Hyper-V environment.

COMPAREX implemented the Veeam solution in about one month, enabling faster, more efficient backups and restores without affecting production systems. Backup time for incremental jobs dropped from about 10 hours to 1 hour, full weekly backups were reduced from an entire weekend to 90 minutes, and storage use was cut roughly in half through compression and deduplication. Recovery tests in Veeam Virtual Lab also improved dramatically, with a 300 GB machine now restorable in 20 minutes instead of six hours.
