Audi, the global vehicle manufacturer, needed a more flexible and secure way to manage its rapidly growing Active Directory environment across multiple international locations. With more than 50,000 users and around 100,000 IT objects, Audi turned to COMPAREX for advice, technical support, and a new company-wide roles and rights structure using Microsoft and Quest software.

COMPAREX implemented a finely structured Active Directory rights concept with Quest ActiveRoles Server, Quest InTrust/ChangeAuditor, and Quest Recovery Manager for Active Directory, along with automated provisioning and web-based user and group lifecycle management. The solution gave Audi centralized visibility into local administration, improved transparency and auditability, and enabled fast recovery of individual objects and groups without data loss, reducing administrative workload and costs while supporting secure operations across locations.
