Oregon-based Multi-Specialty Clinic Implements LIS to Manage EMRs More Efficiently

Oregon-Based Multi-Specialty Clinic, a 23-provider multi-specialty practice in Oregon, needed to replace manual lab workflows and an outdated DOS-based system as it grew, moved into a new building, and prepared for EMR adoption. The clinic wanted a stable vendor and an LIS that could handle on-site testing, support multiple interfaces, and fit the lab’s unique workflow. Comp Pro Med’s Polytech clinical laboratory information system was selected to help manage these challenges.

Comp Pro Med implemented Polytech LIS with interfaces for analyzers, EMR, HIS, PMS, billing, and accounting systems, along with configurable rules, flexible reporting, redundant databases, and regular free upgrades. The clinic was able to manage about 95% of lab work on a single screen, improve reporting and QC trending, preserve physician-friendly chart formats, and reduce manual paper-flow issues.
