Public Municipality Uses Comodo’s Containment Technology to Protect and Secure Its Data

The City of Thousand Oaks, California, a municipality serving roughly 130,000 residents, faced growing malware, spyware and cybercrime risks across its hundreds of staff desktops used to deliver critical services. To secure websites and centrally manage endpoints, the City engaged Comodo Cybersecurity and deployed Comodo’s Endpoint Security Management (ESM) suite along with Comodo’s SSL certificate management.

Comodo Cybersecurity implemented ESM’s five-layer protection—antivirus, firewall, host intrusion prevention, file reputation and patent‑pending real‑time automatic containment—across about 500 endpoints and provides a unified dashboard showing 14 critical metrics. The solution allowed admins to remotely terminate processes, install updates and set resource thresholds with email alerts, delivering zero interruptions to users while eliminating malware outbreaks and operating‑system contamination, streamlining IT operations and protecting City services.
