VomFASS, an international gourmet foods retailer with three stores in the western US, needed a better way to understand its diverse customers and keep loyalty members engaged. The company wanted to move beyond generic messaging and use a mobile app to share relevant product news, seasonal updates, and tasting/event information with the right audiences.
Using Como Sense integrated with its AccuPOS point-of-sale system, Como helped VomFASS automatically segment customers by purchase behavior and send targeted app messages about products like oils, vinegars, spirits, recipes, and promotions. The results were strong: members increased average purchase amounts by 186% versus nonmembers, generated 60% of revenue from just 34% of purchases, and saw a 66% average lift when redeeming the joining gift.
