RSI transforms data governance for millions of customers with Commvault Hyperscale Software

Rural Servicios Informáticos (RSI), part of Caja Rural Group and based in Madrid, supports over 8 million banking customers and manages large and growing data volumes (around 300 TB front-end and 1.7 PB back-end). RSI needed to consolidate its data governance program, safeguard critical customer information across two data centers, and replace tape-based backups that could not meet its availability, scalability or recovery-time requirements.

RSI deployed Commvault Complete Backup & Recovery with Commvault Hyperscale Software and IntelliSnap to enable cloud-like, scale-out on-premises storage, dual-site backups with deduplication, and fast point-in-time restores. The implementation delivered 4.5 TB of backup data per hour, a 36× improvement in recovery time (2 TB recovered in 10 minutes versus six hours), simultaneous dual-site backups, and greater scalability, resiliency and regulatory compliance to support future growth.
