A Commvault Case Study
NTT DATA, a global IT services provider, needed a more scalable, cost‑effective backup for its IT Management Office, which supports 130+ internal systems (including accounting and mission‑critical apps) and tens of terabytes of private‑cloud data. Regulatory changes and unpredictable data spikes exposed limits in its existing build‑your‑own backup across multiple data centers, making root‑cause troubleshooting slow and complicating tiered security requirements for internal and external users.
With help from Commvault partner NTT DATA INTELLILINK, the company deployed six Commvault HyperScale Appliance 1300s as a unified protection platform across data centers and moved to a simplified, subscription license billed on deduplicated data. The rollout delivered seamless scalability without operational changes, better cost control, faster troubleshooting and reduced management and training overhead, and strengthened private‑cloud security through centralized, multi‑level access and encryption.
