Modern Data Management for The Banking Sector With The Commvault Solution

Rural Servicios Informáticos (RSI) is the Caja Rural Group shared-services IT provider for more than 70 banks in Spain, supporting millions of customers across thousands of branches and ATMs. RSI needed to replace an aging IBM/Tivoli backup environment to handle rapid growth in Linux, Unix and virtual platforms, migrate data from EMC VNX systems, reduce administration and roll‑out time across distributed systems, and cut backup costs.

RSI implemented the Commvault platform as a single-console solution, using features such as NDMP, VMware LanFree backup, deduplication, Inline Copy and OnDemand backups, with replication to an alternate datacentre. The result was faster deployments and agent management, greater control and monitoring, scalable growth without changing copy policies, improved SLA performance and customer satisfaction, and a significant decrease in total cost of ownership.
