Mitchell International boosts efficiency and scalability to support future growth

Mitchell International, a California‑based technology provider to the property and casualty insurance industry with 18 offices, 5,000 employees and roughly 3 PB of data, needed a reliable, scalable way to protect a diverse on‑premises and cloud environment as it shifted to a services‑driven model. The team also had to speed recovery, reduce administrative overhead, and prepare for imminent regulations such as the California Consumer Privacy Act.

Mitchell deployed Commvault Complete Backup & Recovery with Commvault HyperScale, Command Center and IntelliSnap to provide a single platform for on‑prem and cloud protection and multiple auxiliary storage policies (including a private S3 StorageGRID). Backups to HyperScale improved network utilization and recovery speed—critical database backups now take ~30 minutes with 15‑minute restores, NAS RTOs are under one minute, 636.4 TB are protected on the new system, and overall management, compliance reporting and scalability have been significantly simplified.
