A Commvault Case Study

Preview of the Juma al Majid Holding Case Study

Juma al Majid Holding Group supports cloud strategy with Commvault and Metallic

Juma al Majid Holding Group, a major UAE conglomerate, was struggling with increasingly complex data management as its business and data volumes grew. Its old backup process relied on multiple Exchange servers, EMC Data Domain, EMC Networker, and offsite tapes, which caused long recovery delays of up to eight weeks. The company needed a simpler, cloud-ready approach to support its move to Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, and chose Commvault, including Commvault HyperScale HS1300 and Commvault Cloud Backup & Recovery for Microsoft 365.

Commvault implemented a unified cloud backup and recovery solution that automated protection for Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and Azure Active Directory, while also supporting on-premises workloads. As a result, Juma al Majid Holding Group backed up 2,500 migrated mailboxes and protected 2,700 mailboxes without adding storage hardware or costs, while also managing about 70 virtual machines and related systems. With Commvault, the company improved recovery speed, simplified reporting, and gained scalable retention and eDiscovery capabilities for compliance.
