Jeju Shinhwa World saves time and cost in data protection with Commvault

Jeju Shinhwa World is a large, premium integrated resort on Jeju Island, South Korea, operating hotels, theme parks and other guest services across a 2.5 million sqm campus. Facing 8x data growth and a slow, error‑prone backup process based on disk and tape vaulting, the IT team needed a flexible, economical data protection solution that would integrate with its new hyperconverged environment and public cloud.

The resort deployed a software‑defined data center using Nutanix Acropolis with Commvault Complete Backup & Recovery and Microsoft Azure for long‑term storage, implemented with partner SoftTop10. The new architecture automated backups, enabled immediate disaster recovery, used capacity‑based licensing to scale cost‑effectively, saved administrators at least one hour per day, and is expected to cut hardware maintenance costs by about US$17,000 annually.
