Consolidated Minerals Mines Valuable Data with CommVault Simpana 10 Search and Archive Capabilities

Consolidated Minerals, a West Perth–based manganese producer, faced falling productivity and rising costs because critical project data wasn’t consistently archived or searchable. Remote sites struggled with bandwidth for backups, teams were repeatedly recreating work, and the company lacked robust eDiscovery and disaster‑recovery capabilities.

Upgrading to Commvault (Simpana) for deduplication, compression, replication, archiving and enterprise search gave Consolidated Minerals searchable, archived data and reliable replication to remote sites. The change cut storage from about 5 TB to 1.5 TB, extended tier‑one storage life by two years, enabled end‑user self‑service search (reducing IT overhead), and strengthened RTO and overall business continuity.
