Fin IT, the IT arm of Gruppo Finanziaria Internazionale (which includes Banca Finint and about 700 employees), faced rapidly growing, sensitive and highly varied data across four data centers, 200 virtual servers and multiple databases. Their previous backup solution required heavy manual intervention and proved unreliable, so the team needed a secure, scalable and easy-to-manage data protection platform that could handle high volumes and diverse systems.

Fin IT selected and deployed Commvault backup and recovery with source-side deduplication and snapshot-based point-in-time recovery, implemented by their staff with Commvault Professional Services. The platform now protects about 15 TB daily, delivers more recovery points and faster restores, reduces storage costs through deduplication, provides automated reporting and alerts, and gives the operations team reliable, continuous protection with room to add features such as email archiving and content indexing.
