CITIC Cloud, the cloud platform of CITIC Group—a Chinese conglomerate with 2,800 subsidiaries and 310,000 employees—needed to protect and manage data across a sprawling multi‑cloud environment (170 services from providers including Alibaba Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Oracle and Tencent) supporting up to 400 TB of data. Working with Commvault and partner PolyStor, CITIC Cloud deployed Commvault Complete Backup & Recovery to deliver centralized backup, in‑cloud protection, archiving and disaster recovery across PaaS, IaaS and on‑premises systems. The solution simplified management with web self‑service and orchestration, improved scalability and flexibility, reduced total cost of ownership, ensured compliance, and helped migrate large portions of the estate to the cloud (100% of channel apps, 60% of management apps, 30% of production), while protecting data across multiple cloud providers.
