Arvest Bank slashes time and expense of data backup with Commvault

Arvest Bank, a regional bank serving four Midwestern states with more than 270 locations, was protecting large volumes of customer data (240 TB backed up weekly, 3.6 PB total front‑end) but relied heavily on tape (about 95% of data). This caused multi‑day backup windows, difficulty meeting internal SLAs and regulatory retention requirements, and operational overhead from tape management.

Arvest implemented Commvault Complete Data Protection with DASH Copy, snapshot management and disk‑to‑disk deduplication/replication to a secondary site. The change cut backup time from three days to three hours (≈75% faster), moved backups from 5 to 7 days/week, reduced storage needs by roughly 90% (storing ~3.6 PB on ~571 TB with 75–85% dedupe rates), delivered offsite copies about 72 hours faster, and saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in disk costs.
