Thaw Out, an eight-employee family-run heating & plumbing business in Surrey, was hampered by old-school, manual systems — paper job calendars, Word invoices and Excel spreadsheets — which made scaling, repeat business and admin efficiency difficult. After working with a business advisor, Thaw Out selected Commusoft’s workflow/field-service management software to modernize scheduling, job tracking and customer communications.
Commusoft implemented mobile job management, real-time technician tracking, onsite invoicing with card payments and automated service reminders, and provided hands-on training for a fast rollout. As a result Thaw Out is generating more jobs and higher income, technicians complete and invoice jobs on the spot, reminders convert repeat bookings (roughly nine out of ten), and the company removed a £150/year external fee for gas-safety inspections (300 inspections × £0.50), reducing costs and stress while improving professionalism and scalability.
