Health Insurance Authority streamlines comparison for 1,740-euro policies with Communicraft

The Health Insurance Authority (HIA), Ireland's statutory regulator for private health insurance, faced the challenge of helping consumers navigate a complex and stressful market. With rising premiums and confusing plan data from insurers, their existing comparison tool was difficult to use. The HIA commissioned Communicraft to build a new, secure web application that would provide clarity for consumers and streamline data operations for both the HIA and insurers.

Communicraft implemented a human-centred design process, creating a tool with features like drag-and-drop coverage ranking and smart filtering based on behavioural insights. The solution included secure portals for data submission and management. The new platform empowered consumers to make confident, informed choices with clarity, while also streamlining operations and ensuring compliance through rigorous security measures implemented by Communicraft.
