A Commscope Case Study
Melbourne Airport, owned by Australia Pacific Airports Corporation (APAC), faced the challenge of modernizing its IT infrastructure to support growth and meet stringent new government security regulations. A critical requirement was to implement dual redundancy between its two data centers. To address this, the airport utilized a cabling system from CommScope.
CommScope implemented a solution featuring its Category 6A HighBand 20 patch-by-exception cabling system, KRONE fiber panels, and fiber cassettes. This provided a highly-organized infrastructure that minimized crosstalk and supported an MPLS network. As a result, Melbourne Airport successfully achieved the required dual redundancy by connecting each data center to the other and to two separate locations, fulfilling the federal government's security rules.
